Italy: Night 2 of Sanremo 2025 results
The second night of Festival di Sanremo 2025 has just concluded, and after the ranking was unveiled, we know who the top five of the night are
È la seconda notte!
15 of the acts conquered the Sanremo 2025 stage again tonight, with five acts receiving enough votes to end in the Top Five ranking tonight. The voting to determine the top five was split 50/50 between a radio jury and televoting.
When the votes came in, artistic director and host Carlo Conti revealed the top five in a random order to close out the show:
- Giorgia – "La cura per me"
- Simone Cristicchi – "Quando sarai piccola"
- Fedez – "Battito"
- Achille Lauro – "Incoscienti giovani"
- Lucio Corsi – "Volevo essere un duro"
We saw a great show tonight, and our special co-hosts, Bianca Balti, Cristiano Malgioglio, and Nino Frassica helped make it memorable.
For the Nuove Proposte section, all four emerging artists who advanced from Sanremo Giovani will perform in duels. The winner of the televote for each one advances to the Final of the Nuove Proposte section tomorrow.
The first duel was between Alex Wyse with "Rockstar" and Vale LP e Lil Jolie with "Dimmi tu quando sei pronto per fare l'amore." The second duel was between Maria Tombia with "Goodbye (voglio good vibes)" and SETTEMBRE with 'VERTEBRE."
Alex Wyse advanced from duel one and SETTEMBRE advanced from duel two, which means we will see both compete tomorrow for the Nuove Proposte crown.
That's not all! Sanremo isn't Sanremo without having notable special guests, and tonight was no exception! Frontman of Måneskin, Sanremo and Eurovision winning band in 2021, Damiano David made an appearance that no one will forget. David performed "Felicità" in a touching tribute to Lucio Dalla. We also saw BigMama perform her Sanremo 2024 hit "La rabbia non ti basta" on the Suzuki stage.
Tomorrow night we head onto the third night of the iconic festival. The 14 remaining acts will perform their songs again. Like tonight, those acts will be ranked and a random order and the top five will be revealed. The winner of the Nuove Proposte section will also be announced. The co-hosts for tomorrow are Miriam Leone, Elettra Lamborghini, and Katia Follesa.

Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest
Italy has participated in 49 Eurovision contests. They have won three times:
- 1964: Gigliola Cinquetti – Non Ho L'étà
- 1990: Toto Cutugno – Insieme: 1992
- 2021: Måneskin – Zitti e buoni
Their worst result came in 1966, when they finished last.
Italy's most well-known song is "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu," better known as "Volare" from 1958. It is also the most covered Eurovision Song Contest song ever. The song has been covered by famous stars such as Dean Martin, Cliff Richard, David Bowie and many more.
Italy took a long pause from the Eurovision Song Contest between 1998 and 2010. Since then, Italy has been a "Big-5" country, which means they don't have to go through the Semi-final round and are automatically qualified for the Grand Final.
