Sanremo 2025 – 1st night

Sanremo isn't complete without a great show to go along with it. Together with Carlo Conti tonight, Antonella Clerici and Gerry Scott were the special co-hosts.

Night 1 also brought us some unforgettable interval acts! Jovanotti performed numerous numbers and brought some very touching moments to the show. On the Suzuki stage we saw RAF perform 'Self Control' to add some spark to the show.

We got a cameo from Alessandro Cattelan, who is hosting the DopoFestival, which will be held after each night's finish. In true Sanremo fashion, we saw Alessandro unveil a gold statue of host Carlo Conti outside of the Teatro Ariston.

Tomorrow night, we will see 14 or 15 acts perform their song again, as well as all four acts in the newcomer selection showcased. The co-hosts for Night 2 will be Bianca Balti, Cristiano Malgioglio, and Nino Frassica. Damiano David (Sanremo & Eurovision 2021) and BigMama (Sanremo 2024) will be special guests.

Italy 2021: Måneskin - "Zitti e buoni"

Italy's most well-known song is "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu," better known as "Volare" from 1958. It is also the most covered Eurovision Song Contest song ever. The song has been covered by famous stars such as Dean Martin, Cliff Richard, David Bowie and many more.

Italy took a long pause from the Eurovision Song Contest between 1998 and 2010. Since then, Italy has been a "Big-5" country, which means they don't have to go through the Semi-final round and are automatically qualified for the Grand Final.
