Ukraine: Ziferblat wins Vidbir 2025 with "Bird of Pray"

We know who will be waving the flag for Ukraine in Basel this May. It's Ziferblat with "Bird of Pray" after winning Vidbir 2025

Tonight Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC held the 2025 edition of Vidbir, the national selection process Ukraine uses to choose their Eurovision representatives. 10 acts took the Vidbir 2025 stage tonight hoping to secure enough votes for the victory, and to have a place in Vidbir history.

After all 10 artists took the stage with their memorable performances and many interval acts, the votes were counted and it was official: Ziferblat wins with the song "Bird of Pray."

Ziferblat

Formed in 2015, Ziferblat is a Ukrainian band consisting of Daniil Leshchynskyi (vocalist), Valentyn Leshchynskyi (guitarist), and Fedir Hodakov (drummer).

Ziferblat released their first EP in 2017 titled 'Кіносеанс' (Cinematic Session), with their first album 'Перетворення' (Transformation) having been released in 2023.

The band has a history with Vidbir, though. Ziferblat was on the longlist in 2023 with their song "Demony" ("Демони"). While failing to make the shortlist in 2023, the band successfully made it the following year with their song "Place I Call Home." They went on to place 2nd at Vidbir 2024.

Vidbir 2025

Ukraine continued with the national selection Vidbir to choose their Eurovision 2025 representative. Vidbir 2025 took place in Kyiv and was hosted by Masha Efrosynina, Timur Miroshnychenko, and Vasyl Baidak.

Nine acts automatically qualified to the Final, with the tenth act being selected via the public in a wildcard selection. All 10 acts performed their songs and received points from a jury and the public, both allotting for 50% of the points.

The jury consisted of Jamala (Eurovision 2016), Serhii Tanchynets, and Kateryna Pavlenko (Eurovision 2020 and 2021).
