Sweden: John Lundvik wins Melodifestivalen 2019

The Final of Melodifestivalen 2019 was held tonight in Friends Arena in Stockholm. After four Semi-finals and a Second Chance-show 12 songs were selected to compete in the Final of Melodifestivalen, the biggest television show in Sweden.
28 songs and six amazing shows concluded tonight, when the Swedish public and eight international juries agreed to chose John Lundvik for Tel Aviv. Lundvik was a huge favourite among all bookmakers as well as in our poll.
John Lundvik will represent Sweden at Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song Too Late for Love.
Too Late for Love is written by John Lundvik, Anderz Wrethov and Andreas "Stone" Johansson.

John Lundvik was selected as winner by eight international juries and the Swedish public. The Swedish public and the juries each had a total of 464 points to award. All eight international juries agreed that Lundvik should win Melodifestivalen 2019, as they all gave him 12 points.
Make Eurovision Straight Again
The official spokesperson for the EBU, Lynda Woodruff, returned at this year's Melodifestivalen, teaching us about last year's winner, DJ David Gnetta, last year's hosts; the Lesbians, and that Jesus also has competed in Eurovision!
John Lundvik
John Hassim Lundvik, 36, is a British born singer and songwriter. He was born in London, and when he was six years old he and his family moved to Växjö, Sweden, where he grew up. He was very active as a sprinter. He ran 100 meter on 10.84!
He has written songs for artists like Isac Elliot, Anton Ewald and Sanna Nielsen, and composed music to the movie Snabba Cash, and the TV series Empire.
Lundvik is also one of the composers behind United Kingdom's entry for this year's Eurovision, Bigger Than Us, sung by Michael Rice.
He competed in Melodifestivalen last year, with his song "My Turn", finishing in 3rd place.

The format for Melodifestivalen 2019 was the same as last year: Each of the 4 heats qualified 2 songs directly to the final. Each of the 4 heats qualified 2 songs to the "second chance"-show. In the "second chance" 4 songs were selected for the final.
Hosts of the shows were Eric Saade, Sarah Dawn Finer, Marika Carlsson and Kodjo Akolor.
Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest
Since 1958 Sweden has participated 58 times in Eurovision Song Contest with great succes. They have won the contest 6 times:

They came last two times (1963 and 1977), and since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004 Sweden managed to qualify for the Grand Final 14 out of 15 times! (only skipped the qualification in 2010)
