Norway MGP 2024: Ingrid Jasmin, Gothminister, and Margaret Berger to the Final

Tonight the first heat of the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2024 took place. Six acts performed live and half of them qualified for the final: Ingrid Jasmin, Margaret Berger, and Gothminister

Melodi Grand Prix 2024 has officially begun! The first heat of MGP took place tonight at the NRK Studios in Oslo with six hopefuls fighting for three spots in the Final.

The three qualifiers from Heat 1 are Ingrid Jasmin with the song "Eya," Margaret Berger with the song "Oblivion," and Gothminister with the song "We Come Alive." They've qualified directly for the Final of MGP 2024, which will be held on 3 February.

Melodi Grand Prix 2024

Melodi Grand Prix 2024 consists of four shows: Three heats and a final:

  • Heat 1: 13 January 2024
  • Heat 2: 20 January 2024
  • Heat 3: 27 January 2024
  • Final: 3 February 2024

In each of the heats, six songs are performed, and three songs qualify for the Final (decided by 100% public voting). In the Final, the results will be based on 60% public voting and 40% international jury.

All shows will be hosted by Marion Ravn and Fredrik Solvang.

In 2009, Alexander Rybak's Fairytale received the most points ever in the old voting system: 387 points – getting 12 points from 16 countries. However, Norway holds another Eurovision record; the country that has finished last the most times – 10 last place finishes!

Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Norway has been very successful; qualifying for the Grand Final 16 out of 19 times.
