Israel: Eden Golan selected for Eurovision 2024

The Final of Israel's HaKokhav HaBa was held tonight with four artists fighting for the throne. The Israeli representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be Eden Golan

The Final of the talent show HaKokhav HaBa in Israel was held tonight in Neve Ilan.

The first show of the talent show HaKokhav HaBa (The Next Star / הכוכב הבא) was aired back in November 2023, and after numerous auditions, shortlisting rounds, heats and semi-finals, it was time for the Final tonight. The Final was held in Neve Ilan and hosted by Assi Azar (host of Eurovision 2019) and Rotem Sela.

The four finalists performed covers of songs, and the top-3 advanced to the Superfinal. Here, the three participants who were still in the competition each sang a song, and then it was time for the final vote.

And...Noa Kirel's successor for Eurovision is: Eden Golan.

The song that Eden Golan will sing on the Eurovision stage in May will be selected internally by a committee. Songwriters can submit songs to the broadcasters Kan and Keshet until 11 February.

The song will include Hebrew lyrics and will be announced in March 2024.

Eden Golan

20-year-old Eden Golan thought she would be in the Olympics when she started as an artistic gymnast at the age of nine. But that changed at a family vacation in Thailand where there was music entertainment in the hotel lobby, and she went on stage to sing "Jingle Bells." That was a wake-up call for the young Eden. She wanted to sing.

The first time she stepped on a more serious stage was in 2014, when she competed in a contest for young singers in front of 20,000 people.

When Eden Golan started singing, she was influenced by Miley Cyrus. Later, it was stars like Beyonce and Jessie J that impressed her – especially their vocals.

In 2018, Eden Golan was a finalist in "The Voice Kids Russia 5" after she joined the girl group "Cosmos Girls."
