Austria: Listen to "We Will Rave" by Kaleen for Eurovision 2024
The song Kaleen will sing for Austria at Eurovision 2024 has just been released. Here's "We Will Rave"
We're getting closer and closer to having all of the songs released for Eurovision 2024. At midnight, we added Austria to the list.
Back in January, Austrian broadcaster ORF internally selected singer Kaleen to represent the nation in Malmö. Along with the news, the broadcaster also confirmed she'd be singing "We Will Rave."
The techno-pop inspired song has just been officially released:
"We Will Rave" was written by Anderz Wrethov, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt, Julie "Kill J" Aagaard, and Thomas Stengaard.
Kaleen
Kaleen (29), whose real name is Marie-Sophie Kreissl, is a professional dancer and singer from Upper Austria.
Since her early years, Kaleen has been accumulating experience in the entertainment industry. In addition to winning five world championship titles and more than 100 national and European championship titles in a variety of sports, she also started her own record label, Wifi Records, in 2021, and put out her debut album, "Stripped Feelings," in 2023.
At Eurovision 2018, Kaleen stepped onto the big stage for the first time - on one hand as a double in rehearsals for various nations, and on the other hand as a dancer and choreographer for the interval act.
In 2021 and 2022 she took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as creative director, and in 2023 she supported not only Austria, but also Armenia, Germany, and Georgia in the stage implementation of their contributions in Liverpool.
Kaleen says:
– I think I haven’t fully grasped the fact yet, that I’ll be standing on that stage as an artist myself. I am in love with this world of lights and cameras and believe it’s a privilege to take the audience on a journey. I worked hard for this, and I am extremely proud. I am very looking forward to showing the world what I can do.
Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest
Austria has been participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 55 times since its debut in 1957.
They have won the competion twice: in 1966 (Udo Jürgens - Merci Chérie) and in 2014 (Conchita Wurst - Rise Like a Phoenix). They came in last in the competition eight times (zero points in 1962, 1988, 1991 and 2015).
Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Austria has only qualified for the Grand Final 8 out of 15 times.
