Romania 2020: Roxen – "Alcohol You"

Alcohol You

Roxen's song for Eurovision 2020, Alcohol You, is written by Ionuț Armas, Breyan Isaac and Viky Red. ''Alcohol You'' received the highest points possible by both the public and the juries.

Roxen is happy about the choice the Romanian jury and people took:

– "Alcohol You" is a song I feel with my whole body and I relive every time I perform it. Its style represents me and I am thrilled the public and jury felt the same way and voted for it. A big thank you, everybody! All this support means the world to me and motivates me, both as a person and as an artist, to work harder, to apply myself even more to my music, says Roxen.

She is also confident in performing "Alcohol You" in Rotterdam:

– I wish "Alcohol You" will reach the top, I wish it will be as appreciated and voted by the Eurovision public during the shows in Rotterdam. My emotions run high but it’s all very positive and I hope this will help me prepare for Eurovision 2020 and reach people’s hearts with my music, Roxen says.

Viky Red, one of the composers of "Alcohol You", is amazed by Roxen:

– The way Roxen conveys this song is amazing, it surprises me time and time again. She really feels it and I am so pleased her performance has touched both jury and public. We will continue to work together and do all that is necessary in order to go to Rotterdam with the best version of this song as well as with an amazing show.

Romania was expelled from Eurovision 2016 due to unpaid dept to EBU, so the winner of Selecţia Naţională 2016, Ovidiu Anton didn't participate in Stockholm.

Since the introductions of semi-finals in 2004, Romania has qualified to the Grand Final 13 out of 15 times, only missed the 2018 and 2019 qualification.
