The Netherlands has released their Eurovision 2023 song: Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper with "Burning Daylight"
The song Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper will be performing at Eurovision 2023, "Burning Daylight," is now officially out. Listen to the song here
Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper were selected internally by the Dutch Broadcaster, AVROTROS, back in November to represent the country this year at Eurovision.
Their song, "Burning Daylight," has been released for all to hear along with the music video:
"Burning Daylight" was written by both Nicolai and Cooper, alongside Eurovision 2019 winner, Duncan Laurence, and Jordan Garfield.

Mia Nicolai:
Michaja Nicolaï (known as Mia Nicolai) was born in Ansterdam, Netherlands on 7 March 1996. Nicolai released her first single back in 2018 and has been active in the industry ever since. Mia attended music school in London before moving to Melbourne for a bit. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California. In 2021, she released her song titled "People Pleaser" where she worked alongside Jordan Garfield.
Dion Cooper:
Dion Cuiper (known as Dion Cooper) is a Dutch singer-songwriter born on 29 November 1993. He has been singing and performing for over 10 years, but in 2020 released his own music for the first time, starting with his EP "Too Young to be Dumb." Back in 2015, he competed on The Voice of Holland, and more recently in 2021 he was an opening act on Duncan Laurance's 2021 NL Tour.

The Netherlands has historically been one of the 10 most successful Eurovision countries.
They have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 62 times since their debut in 1956, with five victories:

- 1959: Teddy Scholten – Een Beetje
- 1969: Lenny Kuhr – De Troubadour
- 1975: Teach-In – Ding-A-Dong
- 2019: Duncan Laurence – Arcade
Since 1975, the best result for the Netherlands was in 2019, when Duncan Laurence finished first with the song "Arcade." They have come in last in the contest 5 times: 1958, 1962, 1963, 1968 and 2011. Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, they have qualified for the Grand Final 9 out of 18 times.
