Moldova: Anna Odobescu to sing "Stay" at Eurovision 2019

National Moldovan Final O Melodie Pentru Europa took place tonight in Chisinau giving Ana Odobescu the "golden ticket" to be this year's representantive in Tel Aviv.

Tonight the final of the Moldovan selection for Tel Aviv 2019: O Melodie Pentru Europa 2019, organized by Moldovan broadcaster TRM took place. Ten acts competed and Anna Odobescu, graduate of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau, won with the song Stay.

O Melodie Pentru Europa 2019

O Melodie Pentru Europa 2019 selected Moldova's entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. O Melodie Pentru Europa 2019 had only two phases: Live auditions and a Final. Initially the broadcaster had planned to hold a Semi-final on 2 March, but this has been cancelled, and instead the final was moved to 2 March:

  • 2 February 2019: Live Auditions
  • 2 March 2019: Final

10 songs proceeded to the Final. The result of the Final was decided by 50/50 jury/televoting.

Moldova has participated in Eurovision Song Contest every year since its debut in 2005.

The best result was in 2017 where Sunstroke Project finishing 3rd with the hit Hey Mamma.
