
Iceland: The last three qualifiers for the Söngvakeppnin 2025 Final
Tonight was Semi-final 2 of Iceland's Söngvakeppnin 2025 held. Five acts took to the stage to perform their songs, with three of them moving on to the Final next Saturday
Semi-final 2 of Iceland's Söngvakeppnin 2025 has just concluded and we now know who the remaining three acts are advancing to the Final.
We saw five acts perform their songs tonight, all with the hope of moving on to the Final. After the performances the voting started to determine which three acts would head to the Final next Saturday.
Once all the votes were in Júlí & Dísa, Bjarni Arason and Tinna were announced as the night's qualifiers. As usual, the songs in the Semi-finals of Söngvakeppnin have to be performed in Icelandic. The six artists who advance to the Final will have the option of singing their song in any language.
The decision of tonight's result was in the hands of 100% public voting.

Söngvakeppnin 2025 features three live shows:
Semi-final 1: 8 February 2025Semi-final 2: 15 February 2025- Final: 22 February 2025
The Semi-finals will be fully voted on by the public, whereas the Final will have 50% of the jury vote mixed.
All three shows will be held in RVK Studios, Reykjavík and hosted by Benedikt Valsson and Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsson.
Iceland in Eurovision
Iceland's debut in the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 1986, and they've participated 36 times since.
Their best results are two second-place finishes with Yohanna in 2009, and Selma in 1999. The country has finished last four times: 1989, 2001, 2018 and 2024.
Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Iceland has qualified for the Grand Final 11 out of 20 times.
Iceland is the only Northern European country that has yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest.
